Information You Need About COVID-19
While this virus is highly contagious, the good news is that following some common sense measures, such as social distancing, can go a long way toward helping you.
How to Stay Safe
We know you’ve heard it before, but we can’t overemphasize the importance of washing your hands often. But merely running your hands quickly under water isn’t enough. You should be sure you use soap and warm water, washing your hands for at least 20 seconds.
Remember to be particularly careful and wash your hands if you’ve touched items such as doorknobs, television remotes, and gas pumps—any item that is frequently touched.
Other common sense guidelines are:
- Don’t touch your nose, eyes or mouth if you haven’t washed your hands.
- Whenever you can, avoid being in contact with someone who’s sick.
- Be sure to cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough.
- Remember to clean areas that are frequently touched.
We also encourage everyone to follow the guidelines from the state’s department of health.
COVID-19 and The Flu
Both of these illnesses have the potential to be very serious, especially among the elderly and those with compromised immune systems. Those with other medical complications, such as diabetes or COPD are also at risk.
Reliable Resources for More Information
Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. While this can be a valuable source of information, it can also spread items that aren’t true, leading to confusion that can be detrimental to your health. Just because you saw it on Twitter or Facebook doesn’t necessarily mean it’s valid.
We want to be sure you have the resources that provide valuable information about COVID-19.
